POSITION TITLE: Computer SPECIALIST
GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the System Engineer, performs skilled tasks necessary to maintenance the efficiency and integrity of customer computer systems, PC and Mac Software and Hardware installation and trouble shooting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PC and peripherals installation;
PC software installation;
Internet server setup and maintenances;
Install local area computer networks and network workstations;
Identity computer problems and repair personal computers;
Assist a customer to use computer applications;
Resolve software problems.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· Associate’s Degree or Diploma from college or technical school with course work in computer science/information systems and related experience (preferred)
· Will consider any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to install, modify and make minor repairs to a variety of computer hardware and software.
· Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with various levels of the college community, including the ability to exercise patience, tact and good judgment in dealing with end users.
· Good working knowledge of a variety of personal computer applications.
· Ability to quickly diagnose system hardware, software, or operator problems and to recommend corrective action.
· Possess a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
· Demonstrated interest and ability in staying current with computer technology, including hardware, software, operating systems and the Internet.
· Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and to make sound judgments based upon knowledge of College policies and procedures
· Some knowledge of and ability to apply modern office methods, practices, routines and equipment.
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop effective work methods and meet short deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
SALARY: $32,760.00 – 2-year position
Work Hours: Full time. At least seven hours a day from 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday per week.
Work Place: Auckland, New Zealand
